Ethiopia TheraSim Deploys Clinical Performance Management in Ethiopia.
TheraSim, Inc., announced a contract with Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health's TSEHAI Project in Ethiopia, funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and PEPFAR to provide its innovative software system for up to 500 clinicians treating patients with HIV/AIDS among 40 clinics and hospitals throughout the country over the course of a year.
During this period, TheraSim will deliver its CD-based TheraSim Clinical Simulator and will introduce other components of TheraSim Clinical Performance Management (CPM) in Ethiopia including electronic medical records and decision support, each using TheraSim's powerful, artificial intelligence engine to mentor and support clinicians at the point of care.
"I'm excited to see the data that TheraSim can share on clinical capacity and patient outcomes," says Tadesse Wuhib, CDC Coordinator for Ethiopia.
Dr. Solomon Zewdu, Chief of Party for JHU TSEHAI project in Ethiopia, says, "TheraSim adds a critical element to the quality of care of our programs. We look forward to the implementation of this vital system."
Initial deployment will begin in hospitals and clinics in Addis Ababa, and will then be introduced in more rural locations. TheraSim plans to bring its own computers with the software and support the clinicians with its own IT staff in conjunction with TSEHAI staff.
